The Green Corridor – 15/11/20

The green corridor was a lovely place to walk at. A long stretch of pathway with nothing but greenery on both sides. The distant buildings of estates and building offices.

You’re distant enough to have time for yourself amongst the greenery. This used to be the railway track that goes into Malaysia. It begins from Tanjong Pagar and passes through all the way to Woodlands.

I’m glad they didn’t remove this place entirely but rather kept it this way. For the first time in awhile, I was proud that my country have such naturesque (natural) places to appreciate.

15/11/30 – Green Corridor

A Lord of the Rings moment anyone? When Frodo and his friends hide from the Black Rider who was chasing them. Isn’t this cool? To find such a cool place. Magical!

Green Corridor – 15/11/20

Another angle of the LOTR scene. I’m still trying to get a hang on the instax camera so realized this is not such a good angle.

Nevertheless, the trees were the highlights so yeah, beautiful place still. I think what’s missing would be the European weather that would totally hit the spot. But I can’t complain. Singapore is a tropical country. I actually sort of like the heat in some ways. What a revelation!

My sister and I decided to explore the green corridor. We were hoping to go somewhere less crowded to lessen the contact with people. (Mind you this was during the COVID period).

Even now, the green corridor is a very nice place to walk. It runs alongside the CTE expressway and goes under overhead roads as well. It’s a quiet peaceful walk that leads you pass office buildings and through housing estates. All the while keeping you cocooned in that bubble of greenery.

This corridor has accessible spots from various locations. It’s a corridor that runs from South to North. I usually enter from the middle, close to my home near Buona Vista MRT. A new housing estate is being built next to the entrance, making it more accessible for future residents. Just search for Green Corridor Singapore on Google Maps to find the access points.

From the South entrance to the Northern exit, the whole distance is 21km! That’s about 4-5 hours walk! Or may be even longer depending on your pace.

Since then, they have extended the path even further. It will eventually route back all the way to Tanjong Pagar, where the railway station was. The Tanjong Pagar railway station is also under renovation at the moment. They are redeveloping that area to make it a sightseeing spot. I hope they keep the main structure of the station though. It is very old school and part of Singapore’s history.
