CURLY

CURLY

We’re already in February and it’s getting busy. Work has been taking the bulk of my attention. Despite that, decided to work on the blog a bit more. I wanted to share my instax that I have been taking. It’s nothing groundbreaking but I love them. The rawness and the uncertainty of what you’ll get on the frame in terms of colour, framing and lighting makes it really exciting. You can see it in under the The Instax link or click here.

I was also working on a picture book proposal a while back titled Kerenteng. When I submitted the storyboards, I closed it and didn’t look at it again, probably due to brain exhaustion (haha) and I felt that I really wasn’t good enough to do this. Just recently, I decided to take a peek and see what I did. Well, it’s actually not too bad. I mean the idea is there. The moments are there. It needs refining for sure and give it more character or colour. I definitely need to work more on the captions or the story of what I really want to say with the drawings.

The above is one of the drawings that I did. I really love the purple baju kurung that the curly haired girl is wearing. And of course the balloons just uplifts the frame. I’m thinking of posting more frames up and share my thoughts on them. Perhaps by externalising out what I think, I might get more inspiration from it?
